We have our own coaching launch and can also book other coaching boats if required.

Coaching Team

The club provides coaching for all levels of participant by qualified personnel. Our principal coaches are all experienced rowers, each holding a variety of Championship medals.

Junior

Ailie Ord organises the junior coaching and she is a Scottish Champion, Internationallist, National Champion, Henley Masters and World Masters medallist.

Natalie Irvine is our youngest member of the coaching team and has a wealth of national wins behind her.

Hazel Gaddis, who has been with the club since almost the beginning and has developed through the junior ranks to a very competant and skillful senior, also helps out with coaching the juniors.  Hazel is a member of the club's quadruple scull which has won the Scottish Championships three years in a row (along with Ailie, Gillian and Natalie).

The most recent addition to the team is Iain Rice who is with us thanks to the Henley Stewards CharitableTrust.

Senior

Tom Hewitt looks after our intermediate and experienced seniors. He is a multi Scottish Champion (both sweep and scull) and a World Masters medallist.

Martin and Liz McGovern look after the adult Rowstart beginners and novices.

We also have Liz Davidson and Philip Glennie to provie guidance to our adult rowers and, most recently, Laura Graham who is in the midst of becoming a Level 2 Coach.

Opportunities for all

We are lucky enough as a club to have a great number of members who have competed at national and international regattas and their skills and knowledge provide a wealth of information for all members. We have also been able to raise funds to help a number of members become qualified and gain their UKCC Level 2 coaching certificate, we are also able to provide members with the recognised Basic Instructor’s Certificate.
